B&B currently completes third party reviews on insurance claims with the Pennsylvania Department of Underground Storage Tank Indemnification Fund (PAUSTIF) / ICF, Brandywine Holdings / Chubb Insurance and various other insurance providers. From 2006 to present, B&B has worked on hundreds of third party review assignments for our insurance clients. Assignments have included review or development of scope of works to address environmental releases, performing technical peer reviews of workplans and reports prior to submission to regulatory agencies, review of past and proposed costs for investigation and remediation, review of complete lifecycle cost estimates, and facilitating the solicitation of competitive bids for corrective actions. B&B’s recommendations on technical aspects of claims have resulted in savings of more than $5 million for our insurance clients.
B&B Third Party Review assignments fall under three main categories: 1) Technical Peer Review, 2) Eligibility Determination / Cost Allocation, and 3) Fixed Price Contract & RFB Facilitation. Summary reports containing B&B’s conclusions and recommendations are submitted to the Pennsylvania Insurance Department’s PAUSTIF unit.
